Family Business Experts is a content-rich site that offers tips and success strategies for family businesses. We deal with the unique and complex issues that impact families in business together, especially at succession time.

Our mission is three-fold - to help our family business clients grow their business, to help maintain healthy family relationships, and then, when the time is right, to help transition the business from one generation to the next (or to prepare the business for sale if that is the owner's exit strategy.

Don Schwerzler began studying and advising family business entrepreneurs in 1967 - a span of more than 40 years.

In the early 80's he organized the Family Business Institute - the very first multi-disciplined consulting service exclusively working with family businesses. The Family Business Institute and our web organization Family Business Experts are headquartered in Atlanta GA.

We began working on our SBI site late in 2001, building it page by page - and it is still a work in progress!

Today, our site is the highest-ranked, full-service family business resource on the Internet.

The prestigious JOURNAL OF ACCOUNTANCY (published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) recommended our web site as one of the TOP TEN WEB SITES dealing with succession and succession management.

We also publish the e-zine UNDERSTANDING FAMILY BUSINESS and the FAMILY BUSINESS BLOG. Subscriptions to both are complimentary and available on our web site.
