Build Your Own Fuel Cell

How to build your own fuel cell using electrolysis to create hyrogen and oxygen from Water!

•Fill a small glass jar about 3/4 full of water.

•Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in the water. The baking soda will help conduct the electricity through the water.

•Put a thin piece of cardboard over the opening of the jar. •Insert into the cardboard 2 thin electrical wires about 2 inches apart in a manner such that one end of each of the wires is submerged 2 to 3 inches.

•Wrap the other ends of the wires around the positive and negative terminals of a 9-volt battery. Bubbles will soon begin to accumulate on the submerged ends of the wires. Hydrogen gas on the negative wire and oxygen on the positive wire.

Like I said. . .you can build your own fuel cell, and create fuel cell energy!

CAUTION: Hydrogen and Oxygen are extremely explosive. Do not trap it for a period of time, and then ignite it. If you are determined to ignite to prove its existence, protect yourself from the loud noise and possible explosion.

Build Your Own Fuel Cell In today's world many Creative Minds have launched forth in the effort to generate hydrogen from water as a fuel assist device. They are making great strides in perfecting "Hydrogen Fuel Cell" technology using either alkaline electrolysis, or PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolysis. Web research into PEM Hydrogen Fuel Cells will invariably produce information regarding the fuel cell that generates electricity from hydrogen.

Many are realizing that to Reverse the Process of input hydrogen, output electricity, generates hydrogen from electricity. This requires a more sophisticated Anode and Cathode than in the simple "glass Jar" fuel cell explained above.

Hydrogen and oxygen production can be increased through the stacking of a number of electrolysis cell plates. These plates can be and have been designed in multiple geometric configurations,(circles, rectangles, octagons, triangles, etc.) in an effort to create the most efficient hydrogen fuel cells. Also, many different types of metals have been used for these plates.
